What is an Feeding Challenges Assessment
Challenges to face before assessment
Before starting any Feeding Challenges Therapy, we carry out a detailed assessment to understand your child’s needs and how best we can support them. This helps us tailor our approach and ensure your child receives the most appropriate care.
As part of this process, we ask parents to complete:
- A detailed questionnaire about your child’s feeding and eating history
- A 7-day food diary showing what your child typically eats and drinks
Your child’s food diary will be reviewed by a Specialist Dietitian, who will provide recommendations to help ensure your child is receiving safe and balanced nutrition.
Feeding assessments usually take place at home, during a typical mealtime.
This allows our therapist to observe your child eating and drinking in their usual environment, using familiar foods.

Who This Is For
- Children with feeding difficulties or food aversions
- Kids with autism, sensory needs, or developmental delays
